I started coming to Petersburg when the vet in Athens was killed in car crash. It was so much more affordable. Well I think it's gotten pricy with the new building. I have had to put 2 loving pets to sleep in the last 4 years and had one of my older ladies have a stroke. I felt Dr Lee and Dr Schirding and the staff was very compassionate. I usually deal with one or the other and I trust them with my fur babies. Because I trust them is probably the only reason I still drive to Petersburg from spfld because the prices have gone up and are pretty comparable to other vets here in spfld.

The first time we brought our Persian kitty Spencer to see Dr O'Brien it was for a surgery consult and he was also sick with an upper respiratory infection. He ended up putting him on some meds to help boost his immune system and he ended up not needing any surgery to correct fascial issues that kept him sick. I was so relieved but that wasn't the end of Spencer's story. This was in August of 2014. Nine short months later Spencer was not acting himself....he was spending a lot of time in the litter box and straining. I thought he was constipated... since Petersburg Veterinary Clinic is almost 2 hrs away we took Spencer to our local vet. Three times we went and each time we were told nothing was wrong with him. On as Sunday afternoon he took a turn for the worse and wee were scrambling to find someone to see him. I called Petersburg Vet clinic and Dr Ericka Lee said bring him on in. He was completely blocked. So he was trying to pee and couldnt poor boy! It was a rough road. He stayed 3 weeks and my husband and I will be forever grateful. We have been given more time with our precious baby!

My review has been edited to add info; 4/5/17 was my baby girl's last day, Chloe left with dignity and it was as gentle and loving as the staff could provide. Dr. Schirding was both professional and above and beyond empathetic with both of us. Making the choice to put a loved pet to sleep is never easy but with the guidance of the staff's knowledge and support that decision was made easier. I am very satisfied with the care in the past and at Chloe's last appointment yesterday. The care the staff and vets have for their furry patients is evident and I can't thank Petersburg Vet Clinic enough.

Chloe received the care she needed, she had an emergency on Friday evening and needed to be seen immediately and the staff all went above and beyond. The after hours phone service was a god send this weekend with all of my questions and I can't thank everyone enough for caring for my dog like she was their own and a special thanks to Marie, Sasha, Dr. B and Dr. O'Brien. I was terrified for my fur baby and they were all instrumental in her care and reassuring me that she is going to be okay. I also want to thank the tech who was working with Dr. B on Chloe, I didn't get her name but she was phenomenal.

I can't say enough about Dr. Lee and Dr. O'Brian. They saved my cats life(he had cancer in his leg and we had been told he just pulled a muscle). Took excellent care of my dog. And when it was near the end for our dog it could not have been a more caring environment.

Thank you Dr. O'Brien for helping us with our horse, Captain. We appreciate your compassionate assistance and understanding that we had a family member suffering. Even though it was 2 am, you responded to our call for help. The end result was not what we were hoping the outcome would be, but he is no longer suffering. You helped him crossover with dignity and kindness. We couldn't ask for more. Thank you, thank you.

The only clinic i take my pets to. Love the staff and all the vets. I brought in my 6ft snake the other day an cant thanks them enough for seeing her. You guys are the best!!

I love Petersburg Veterinary Clinic. I had an emergency with my dog tonite and even though Dr O'Brien was not on call tonight I asked for him to treat my little girl and he came. How many vets would do this. He is an awesome Vet and a very caring person. Everyone there is awesome!
